Connect monday.com to OverlayQA
Last updated: October 26, 2026
Connecting monday.com to OverlayQA lets you export design QA issues to a monday.com board and keep their status and priority in step. Each issue becomes an item named after the issue, and the item's first update holds the issue description with the page URL, element selector, computed CSS values and browser details, with the screenshots and files attached to that update.
Connect Your monday.com Account
- Open Integrations in the OverlayQA dashboard and click Connect on the monday.com card.
- A monday.com sign-in page opens. Sign in and approve access for OverlayQA.
- Back in OverlayQA, the monday.com card shows as connected.
Tip: The first connection from a monday.com account needs an account admin, because monday.com lets only admins install apps. After that, anyone on the account can connect.
Choose a Destination
Every export asks where the item should go:
| Setting | Details |
|---|---|
| Board | A monday.com board your account can reach. When your boards sit in more than one workspace, each is shown as Workspace / Board. |
| Group | The group on that board the item is created in. |
Export Issues
- Open an issue and choose Export to monday.com from its actions menu, or select several issues and export them with bulk actions.
- Pick the board and the group.
- Confirm. OverlayQA creates one item per issue and attaches the screenshots to its first update.
Exports work on the dashboard and in Team Review. Bulk actions handle up to 100 issues at a time.
What Gets Exported
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Item name | The issue title from OverlayQA. |
| First update | The issue description, page URL, browser, viewport, element selector and computed CSS values. monday.com items have no description field, so the description lives in the item's first update. |
| Screenshots and files | The screenshots and any files attached to comments, attached to that first update. |
| Priority | The issue's severity, set in the board's Priority column when the board has a matching label. |
What Syncs Back
Changing the item's status to a label such as Working on it or Done, or its Priority label to Critical, High, Medium or Low, updates the OverlayQA issue. Archiving or deleting the item closes the issue, and an update someone writes on the item appears on the issue with their name. Changes to the title, status or severity in OverlayQA update the item, using only labels the board already has. Assignees do not sync with monday.com.
