Connect ClickUp to OverlayQA

Last updated: October 15, 2026

Connecting ClickUp to OverlayQA lets you export design QA issues to a ClickUp list as tasks. Each task carries the issue title, a Markdown description with the page URL, element selector, computed CSS values, severity, browser and viewport, and the screenshots as attachments. When the task status changes in ClickUp, the OverlayQA issue updates to match.

Connect Your ClickUp Workspace

Tip: You only need to connect once. OverlayQA remembers the ClickUp connection for every later export. If the card says it could not check the connection, that is a brief read failure, not a disconnect: click Retry on the card.

Choose a Destination

Every export asks where the task should go. ClickUp organizes work in three levels:

SettingDetails
WorkspaceThe ClickUp workspace you authorized. The webhook that reports status changes is registered per workspace.
SpaceA space inside the workspace.
ListThe list the task is created in. Lists inside folders appear with the folder name so you can tell them apart.

Export Issues

Exports work on the dashboard and in Team Review. Bulk actions handle up to 100 issues at a time.

What Gets Exported

FieldDescription
Task nameThe issue title from OverlayQA.
DescriptionMarkdown with the issue description, page URL, Figma frame link when there is one, type, severity, browser, viewport, element tag and CSS selector, computed CSS values, AI analysis, the comments present at export time, and a link back to the OverlayQA issue.
AttachmentsThe element screenshot and, when captured, the full-page screenshot, uploaded to the task as files.

What Is Not Exported

Note: There is no field picker for ClickUp: tasks are created without an assignee, tags or priority, and you set those in ClickUp. CSS values are the computed values from the live page, not the expected values from a Figma design.

After Exporting

The issue shows a Synced to card naming ClickUp, with a link to the task.

Two-Way Status Sync

OverlayQA registers a ClickUp webhook for the taskStatusUpdated event when you first export to a workspace. From then on, status changes in ClickUp update the OverlayQA issue:

ClickUp status typeOverlayQA status

Custom (any in-between status)In progress
DoneResolved
ClosedClosed

Note: Only status syncs. Comments, assignees and priority do not sync in either direction, so this is a two-way status sync rather than a full mirror of the task.
