Use the OverlayQA Plugin for Framer
Last updated: October 22, 2026
The OverlayQA plugin for Framer starts a client review of your published Framer site from inside the editor. You pick the page, continue in OverlayQA, and create a review link. Clients open the link without an account and pin comments on the live page, and every comment becomes an issue in your OverlayQA project.
Before You Start
- An OverlayQA account. Creating reviews follows your plan and usage limits. Reviewers do not need an account.
- A published Framer site. The review uses the last published version, so publish your editor changes first.
- A project in OverlayQA that you can edit. You can also create one during setup.
Install the Plugin
- Open the OverlayQA plugin on the Framer Marketplace and add it to your project.
- In the Framer editor, open the page you want reviewed.
- Open OverlayQA from the Plugins menu.
Tip: The plugin is free. It adds no code to your site: it reads your published site URLs from Framer and passes the page you choose to OverlayQA. It does not change the Framer canvas, read the page content or install scripts.
Start a Review from the Editor
- If your site has both a production and a staging address, choose Production or Staging. The choice only appears when the two are different sites.
- Check the Page URL. It starts as the page open in the editor. Another HTTPS page on the same published site is accepted too.
- Select Continue in OverlayQA. OverlayQA opens in a new tab, where you sign in if needed.
Note: If nothing opens, your browser blocked the new tab. Allow pop-ups for Framer, then try again. If the plugin says the site has no published details, publish your Framer site and select Refresh site details.
Create the Review Link
- The new tab shows Review your Framer page with the published page you chose.
- Choose the project the feedback belongs to, or select Create a project without leaving the page.
- Select Set up review link, review the sharing options and create the link.
- Copy the link and send it to your client.
What Your Client Does
Clients open the review link without an account, pin comments to the exact spot on the page, draw around an area, attach files and reply. When they finish, they press Done reviewing. See Client Share Links for what clients see and the settings you can change.
Work Through the Comments
Every client comment becomes an issue in your OverlayQA project. Set severity, assign a teammate, add labels and move each issue from Open to In Progress to Resolved. Send issues to Jira, Linear, Asana, Trello, ClickUp, GitHub or Notion.
