Plans and Billing

OverlayQA has three plans: Starter, Team, and Pro. Plans differ by seats, not by features, and every plan includes every workflow. New accounts start with a 14-day free trial and no card. There is no free plan.

Clients never take a seat: they comment on a client link with no account. See the pricing page for what each plan includes.
The Free Trial
A trial lasts 14 days and needs no card. It runs on the Team plan's limits for client links and MCP scans, and allows 5 scheduled scans, weekly or monthly. While a trial runs, the Current Plan card on the Billing page shows a Trial badge, the days left and the exact end time.
When a Trial Ends
OverlayQA shows Your trial ended. Your work is saved. Saved issues, comparisons and scan results stay viewable until you choose a plan. These pause:
- Capturing new issues
- Editing issues
- Gathering team and client feedback: comments and Client Links
- Exporting to Jira, Linear and your other tools
- Visual comparison, accessibility and token scans
Client links you already shared keep accepting comments from your clients. MCP scans are capped at 3 a day.
The team owner can extend a trial once by 7 days with Extend my trial 7 days, on the Billing page or on the trial-ended notice in the extension. The offer is open for 30 days after the trial ends and is not available to a team that has ever paid.
Choose or Change a Plan
- Open Billing in the dashboard sidebar. Every team member can view the plan and seats there; only the team owner can change the subscription.
- Choose Starter or Team from the plan cards. Billing starts the day you subscribe.
- To change or cancel later, click Manage subscription.
Pro is set up with us: its card reads Contact Sales and opens an email to hello@overlayqa.com.
Add Seats
Starter and Team keep their included seats and can add more at $12 per seat per month, with no annual discount. Set Total seats on the plan card before checkout, or, once subscribed, use Add seats on the Current Plan card. Added seats are charged straight away for the rest of the billing period, and only the team owner can add them. See Team Management for who counts as a seat.
